About Me
I don't intend to tell you about my experience, titles, certifications, or achievements. In today's world, these things seem to matter less and less. Instead, through these words, I want to share who I am and what you and I have in common.
Like most human beings, I spent much of my life searching for something. It wasn't until I realized that I didn't even know what I was looking for that I finally found it.
"To learn, teach, and share."
It was during an existential crisis, what some might call a “spiritual awakening”, that I became aware of something I had always kept dormant within myself. I had become lost in a constant search, filling my life with false goals and borrowed purposes while living through years of depression, trauma, and insomnia, unknowingly feeding the emptiness I carried inside.
I came to understand that life was not about any of the things I had once believed it to be. It was about discovering what truly made me feel alive. I realized that life extends far beyond the walls of our immediate perception, and that no achievement could ever fill the emptiness if I wasn't willing to go to the root of my suffering.
Although I had spent more than fifteen years meditating and cultivating awareness of my “Self”, it wasn't until that moment that I understood what I had truly been searching for all along: simply to be myself.
The moment I realized this, I knew I had to follow what had always called me: to walk alongside others on their own journeys. Drawing from years of personal exploration, study, and spiritual growth, I chose to dedicate my life to serving as a guide and companion for those who feel called to reconnect with themselves.
Looking back, I now realize that this calling had been present in my life long before I was ever conscious of it. It was something inherited from my grandfather and nurtured throughout my childhood by the environment and values I grew up with. It was never a sudden idea born from a crisis, but rather the acceptance of something that had always been part of my path, long before I even understood it. My awakening did not create my purpose; it simply allowed me to recognize and embrace what had been quietly guiding me all along.
My Journey
I was born in a community in the southern region of Costa Rica, a place where for 30 years the ideal of living sustainably, cultivating the being in all its forms, and recovering the connection with nature that we’ve lost, was maintained. This is where my growth and learning began, reaching expanded states of consciousness through meditation and breathwork, while cultivating a deep connection with nature, the elements, and the energy of the whole.
Aware that my purpose was to help people, I decided to study psychology. It wasn't until two and a half years into my studies that I realized what I was learning didn’t fully align with my vision of the mind and human existence. That’s when I knew I had to follow the call of my being. I began to heal, grow, and awaken.
At the same time, an opportunity to specialize in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy with an institute in Barcelona, Spain, presented itself. Without much hesitation, I felt it was something I had to do. This marked the beginning of my journey with psychedelics, where I came to understand the great tool they can be for many people and the states we can reach by using them properly.
However, I maintain the belief that any state necessary for growth can be reached through non-substance methods, while recognizing that for many, psychedelics can be the key they need for their awakening, but it is not the only path.
Aware that this specialization was only the beginning of my path, I continued studying and exploring different areas that I consider relevant to our development as human beings. Rather than limiting myself to a single discipline or perspective, I chose to broaden my understanding and learn to see the human being as a whole.
Medicine, alternative therapies, Eastern medicine, third-wave therapies, trauma, IFS, philosophical traditions, spiritual traditions and ideologies, among many others. A continuous search for knowledge, not only to better understand our nature, but also to discover better ways of sharing and putting what I have learned at the service of others.
Over time, all of this learning gradually shaped my own way of accompanying people through their processes. Not from a single discipline or specific training, but from the integration of everything I have learned, experienced, and understood throughout my own journey as a human being.
"Finding a balance between being and doing."
